Response to polyunsaturated fats

Polyunsaturated fats are, unlike saturated and monounsaturated fats, are essential for our body – our body desperately needs to get them from food, as it cannot produce them. They are vital for a healthy heart and brain function, as well as our growth and development. The most important are the groups of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, whose ratio in our diet should be 1:5; but in a modern-day person, the ratio of omega-6 fatty acids is increasing, which is not very healthy. Even though polyunsaturated fats are very beneficial for our body, they have an even more positive effect for some people.
